About StickHits

StickHits is a place to sit behind the kit and simply play. Pick a groove, a fill or a whole song, hit Start, and follow the notation as it scrolls — at a tempo that suits you today and a little faster tomorrow.

Why we built it

Most drummers do not lack material. There are books, videos and endless clips. What is missing is the moment between “I watched it” and “I can play it”: a clear part in front of you, a steady click, and a reason to come back tomorrow. StickHits is built around that moment.

Everything in the app is written to be played, not just read. Every pattern has its own notation, a sensible starting tempo and a level, so you always know what you are getting into before you count it in.

What is inside

• Grooves — beats to loop and lock in, from rock and pop to funk, reggae, jazz and odd-time feels.
• Fills — transitions around the kit, each with a bar of groove in front so you practice getting in and out.
• Chops — short licks and hand-foot combinations to spice up fills and solos.
• Rudiments — the 40 standard rudiments with sticking, plus odd-time variants and a right- or left-hand lead.
• Warm-ups — ready-made routines that chain rudiments, grooves and fills.
• Full songs — complete tracks to play from start to finish, with the original recording, the song without drums or the drums alone.

How it works

Open anything and press Start. The metronome counts you in, the notation scrolls with the beat and the current row stays sharp while the rest fades back. Change the tempo, loop a single part of a song, let the trainer raise the tempo every few bars, or switch to full screen and leave the phone on the music stand.

Every note you play earns Stick Hits. They add up into titles — from Bedroom Beginner all the way to Legendary Drummer — and unlock badges for streaks and milestones. When you have spent enough time with a pattern you can mark it as Mastered, and your practice calendar shows how each day went.

Free and Premium

A free account gets you every Beginner item plus samples from the higher levels, Stick Hits, badges, Mastered and your full practice history. Premium opens the whole library at every level, full songs with play-along recordings and the weekly challenges, and removes ads. The money keeps the app running and pays for new material.

Who makes it

StickHits is a small independent project made by drummers. There is no big company behind it, just people who love playing and wanted a better way to practice. If something does not work, if a part looks wrong, or if you have an idea for a groove we should add, we would really like to hear it.
